Slice ‘n Dice PDF Print E-mail
Get a large group (more than 30) of campers to form two lines, facing one another, creating a corridor or gauntlet. Participants outstretch their arms straight in front of them; arms should intersect, overlapping by about a hand with arms of people opposite. The first person peels off and walks down the corridor.  In order to let the person pass, people raise and then lower their arms, creating a wave effect - a ripple through which a person is walking. The person walking down the "gauntlet" then joins in again at the end of the line. The next person, peels off,  walks, down, and so on. As the group gets more confident, invite people to walk fast, run, and then sprint down the gauntlet. At some point, or for the finale, have people chop their arms up and down, only pausing to allow the gauntlet-runner through.

Plate Race PDF Print E-mail
Give each camper a paper plate. Separate the campers into teams, and give each team another paper plate. The teams race each other to a finish line while only stepping on the paper plates. This will require throwing a paper plate in front of the team and each team member moving forward. The last member picks up the last plate and it gets handed to the front where it is then thrown ahead and stepped on. Everyone moves forward a plate and the process continues.

Human Knot PDF Print E-mail
Standing in a circle, have everyone reach into the circle and grab two hands belonging to two different people. Then, try to untangle yourselves. Or, have everyone joins hands facing the center of a circle, except one person. That person is the doctor. While the doctor is out of the room, everyone steps over each other, twists, turns, and basically turns the circle into a knot. No matter what, they cannot let go of each other's hands. When the circle is a mangled knot, call, "Doctor! Doctor!" The doctor then comes in and tries to unravel the knot of girls without unlinking any hands, to make them become a circle facing inward again.

Egg Heads PDF Print E-mail
Materials: Eggs, markers, potting soil, grass seed, construction paper, ruler and tape.

Instructions: Draw a funny face on an eggshell, then gently tap off the end of the shell that is the top of the head. Shake out the egg into a bowl and set aside for cooking scrambled eggs if you like. Then fill the shell gently with soil. Make a base for the egghead by cutting a 2.5 cm strip of construction paper and taping it into a circle 4 cm in diameter. The shell will stand upright in the ring. Next, plant some grass seed in the soil and mist with water every other day, keeping the soil damp. Place the egghead in sunlight. In about a week, you can give your egghead a haircut or let it grow wild.

Climbing Spiders PDF Print E-mail
Materials: Cardboard, scissors, tape, crayons or markers, four pipe cleaners per spider, two circular objects to trace (one approximately 10 cm in diameter and the other approximately 5 cm in diameter), drinking straw and a piece of string measuring 90 cm.

Instructions: To make the spider, draw two circles on the cardboard. Cut out the circles and tape them together on both sides. The bigger circle is the spider’s abdomen; the smaller is its head. Colour in any design you wish. Next, tape four pipe cleaners on the back of the head just above where it joins the abdomen. Bend the legs in the middle so two pairs point forward and two pairs point backward. Then cut two pieces of straw, each approximately 2.5 cm in length. Carefully tape them to the middle of the spider’s back pointing toward the head. The straws should be about 2.5 cm apart. Thread the string through each of the straw pieces. Leave a little of each end hanging below the body. Gently pull the ends of the strings away from each other and watch your spider go! As a cabin group, each camper could make their own climbing spiders and then race the spiders up and down a wall or the floor.
